Mayor Carl Redus signs a proclamation stating that May 4- 10, 2008 is ARSON AWARENESS WEEK in
the City of Pine Bluff. The United States Fire Administration has deemed this same time as
national ARSON AWARNESS WEEK with a focus on toylike lighters. There was a recent city
ordinance passed by the Mayor and City Council banning the sale of toylike letters in the City of
Pine Bluff.

some of the dangers involved in fighting any type of vehicle fire and what can happen. This crew was

Long Creek Fire and Rescue - Charlotte, NC
In the early morning of Friday May 9th strong storms rolled through the Long Creek
Area leaving behind damage to a storage building housing two fire trucks from the Long Creek
Volunteer Fire Department. With Tornado warnings going off through out
the state, strong winds ripping the building out of the ground laying it some 50 feet

Thu 05-08-08 Granville Firefighters Fight Heavily Involved Vehicle Fire! Raw Footage!

On May 6th, 2008 firefighters from the Granville VFD were dispatched to a reported vehicle on fire.
The driver reported she had struck a deer while traveling on I-79 from Pittsburgh, PA to Morgantown,
WV. Shortly after exiting after hitting the dear the car began to overheat. While attempting to get
help the engine compartment broke out in flames. Firefighters arrived to find the engine compartment
and front passenger compartment heavily involved in fire. No word on the deer's condition

Firefighter Collier and his wife are pleased to announce the birth of their twin girls MaKayla
Elizabeth & McKenna Jayne. Weight 4.7 and 4.1 both 16 inches. Makayla was born at

Wed 05-07-08 Ohio Fire Truck Hits Van While Responding, Kills 2, Injures 4 Firefighters

MASSILLON, Ohio Family and friends have identified those killed in the early morning crash involving
a minivan and a city fire truck.
Ronald Anderson, 72, and his 3-year-old grandson, Javar Brown, were killed in the crash, said his
brother, Victor Anderson.
Four firefighters also were injured in the crash, said Massillon Fire Chief Tom Burgasser.
The crash occurred at Walnut Road and Johnson Street SE as Anderson was taking his grandson to the
nearby Massillon Head Start program, said Sheila McLaurin, a friend who drops off her grandchild at
