Double Shooting in Riverdale

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, patrol units from Riverdale Park police along with units from Riverdale Volunteer Fire Department and a county paramedic unit responded to the 5500 block of 54th Ave in Riverdale for a report of two people shot.Units arrived on scene, and located two adults males shot, One male shot in the back, the second male shot in the chest. Engine-77 responds to Highland Park truck fire

At 18:50 Hours Penndel Fire Co Engine-8 was dispatched to a car fire at 140 Heartwood Road, Crews from the OVS were still cleaning up at the firehouse from our open house and took in the job with the approval of Chief-8. Deputy-77 arrived and reported a pickup well involved and advised the Engine to go in service with the front bumper line. Engine-8 arrived a short time later and assisted Wm Penn Firefighters.

98 year-old man rescured from a house fire

A 98-year-old man was rescued by firefighters Friday night after a fire erupted in the house in Ritchie.Around 8:30 pm, firefighters from Ritchie, District Heights and Capitol Heights fire department along with other near by companies responded for a reported house fire with a person trapped in the 1100 block of Waterford Drive.First arriving, units from Ritchie fire station 837 reported fire showing from the top floor of a two-story house with a person still inside.Volunteer firefighters from station 837 enter the burning house, as they were making an attack of the fire, they located an elder...

GVFD Runs Accident on the Beltway
Greenbelt Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Inc - Greenbelt, MD
Around 8:45 a.m., GVFD was alerted for a motor vehicle accident on the Outer Loop of the Beltway at the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Engine 353 responded and evaluated the vehicle occupants once on scene. Fortunately, no one was injured, as the occupants of both vehicles had been wearing their seatbelts. On October 17th Clear Spring Fire was alerted at 14:32 hours for a reported House Fire on Broadfording Road.  Crews arrived to find fire coming through the roof.Firefighters with the First Hagerstown Hose Company were alerted on the 2nd Alarm assignment at 14:56 hours to assist on the 2nd Alarm Assignment.  Engine 1 responded with 3 personnel to assist. Northeast Nelson Fire and Rescue were called out to the report of a fuel transport truck that had left the roadway and there was a smell of fuel in the area. Upon arrival units found that the truck was secure and no leaks were present.

MVC with Injuries

On 10/17/2014 at 0757 hours, Red Oak Station 51 was requested to respond to a MVC with injuries at the intersection of Allen Rd. and Dickinson Ave. Engine 5101 and Engine 5102 responded. Upon arrival, units found two vehicles involved still in the roadway. Personnel established a safe work zone by diverting traffic around the incident. Personnel assessed those involved for injuries until EMS could arrive. Once EMS arrived, patient care was turned over to them. Personnel assisted EMS with patient packaging and loading. TASK FORCE 21-1 WAS DISPATCHED TO THE WHITE HORSE PIKE AND LINDEN AVENUE FOR A DWELLING FIRE. PRIOR TO ARRIVAL THE CHIEF WAS ADVISED OF A FIRE HEAVILY INVOLVED. POLICE ON SCENE HAD ASSISTED THE VICTIM IN THE HOME TO SAFETY PRIOR TO ARRIVAL OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. STATION 21-1 STATION 22 AND STATION 232 WERE ON LOCATION. THE CAUSE IS UNDER INVESIGATION.

Vehicle Crash with Entrapment - Rock Run Road, Elizabeth Twp.
Elizabeth Township Fire Department - Elizabeth, PA
Just after 7:30pm, the rescue local was struck for a vehicle on its side on Rock Run Road, right behind Station 7. Rescue 7 was the first to arrive finding an SUV on its side and one person still inside. Crews from Rescue 7 and Rescue 4, once they arrived, quickly stabilized the vehicle, controlled any hazards, and began to make access to the patient. Engine 3 stretched a hand line for fire protection. The patient was quickly and safely extricated and treated by Elizabeth Township Area EMS.
