MVC with Injuries and Rollover

On 10/29/2014 @ 0406 hours, Red Oak Station 51 was requested to respond to a MVC, with rollover and pin in, in the 4700-Blk of US 13. Engine 5101 and Engine 5102 responded. Due to the nature of the call, Rescue 1506 was requested from the Town of Winterville and East Care was dispatched. Upon arrival, units and personnel found a single vehicle having left the roadway and overturned and resting on it's roof. Personnel deployed a single 1.75" line and extrication equipment. Engine 23-2 went enroute with 5 personnel at 0929 hours. Chief 24 (Melton) went on scene at 0931 hours with heavy smoke showing from the D (Delta) side. Engine 23-2 arrived to pull a 3” to supply tanker 19 (Hockessin). Tanker 39 to Assist 71 at trailer fire
Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department - Youngstown, PA
At 07:26 the tanker was sent to assist station 71 (Bradenville) with a mobile home fire with entrapment on Longview Court. Assistant 71 arrived to report a working structure fire with no entrapment. The Tanker was assigned to water supply and hands were requested to assist with overhaul. Also assisting were 41 (Derry), 114 (Lloydsville), and Air-113-6 (Latrobe) and Air 132 (Blairsville).

Station 78 assisted station 72 on a single MVC, car into pole and then tree. Station 78 set up a landing zone for a potential helicopter landing. Station 344 was on scene providing medical care.

MVC with Injuries

On 10/28/2014 @ 1807 hours, Red Oak Station 51 was requested to respond to a MVC with injuries on NC 43 N near MacGregor Downs Rd. Engine 5101 and Engine 5102 responded. Upon arrival, units found two vehicles involved with heavy damage still in the roadway. Personnel established traffic control and assessed those for injuries. Once EMS arrived, personnel assisted them with patient care. Once EMS departed for Vidant Medical Center, units and personnel remained on scene with traffic control until both vehicles were removed by wreckers called by NCHP. MVC with extrication

At 17:19 hours, the WRFD was dispatched to 287 Hackensack St., for a motor vehicle crash with a car into the building.  Firefighters and EMTs arrived and found two cars had collided, sending one car into the stairs of 287 Hackensack St.  The driver of this vehicle was trapped in the car and needed to be extricated.  Firefighters and EMTs stabilized the vehicles and patients and began the process of extricating the trapped driver.  Firefighters removed both driver's side doors to assist in removing the injured driver.  The dri...

Dump Truck Rollover - Route 51, Forward Township
Elizabeth Township Fire Department - Elizabeth, PA
Just after 5:30am, Rescue 7 was special called to Route 51 near the Red Caboose in Forward Township for a dump truck rollover, assisting Station 154 (Gallatin-Sunnyside VFD). A large tandem axle dump truck carrying a load of cinders had overturned and struck a passing SUV. On Monday, October 27 at our monthly company meeting, the Darlington Volunter Fire Company awarded the first place trophies to the winners or the annual Fire Prevention Poster contest. Posters are drawn by the 3 local Elementary School students. Members of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company vote on the posters. Five Call Day for PUVFD

PUVFD was activated for a total of 5 calls today starting with an automatic fire alarm to assist Whitney-Hostetter VFD at 2:33 PM at Greater Latrobe Junior High School.  The call was cancelled after determining the maintenance crew from the school activated the alarm in error. Next was another auromatic fire alarm at 4:10 PM to assist Marguerite VFD at The Inn at Mountain View.  This call too was canceled. QUINT RESPONDS WITH STATION 68 ON CHIMNEY FIRE

JUST BEFORE 2PM ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON CREWS WERE CALLED OUT FOR LADDER 429 TO ASSIST KUHL HOSE (STATION 68) ON A CHIMNEY FIRE ON LANGDON ROAD. L-429 RESPONDED WITH 5 PERSON CREW AND ARRIVED ON SCENE WITH E-683 AND T-685 ALREADY ON SCENE. THE CREW WAS ASSIGNED TO CHECK THE CHIMNEY FOR ANY PROBLEMS. THE CREW ASSISTED THE KUHL HOSE MEMBERS AND WERE BAK IN STATION AT 1440 HRS.  NO DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING AND NO INJURIES ION THIS ALARM. Citizens Fire Company #2 - South Williamsport, PA
At 09:25, South Williamsport Borough units were alerted to an automatic alarm at the Mountaineer Lounge.  Reports from PD on scene of smoke in the structure.  As Engine 9 and Engine 10 were responding, PD reports an extinguisher was needed to knock down fire.  At that point Chief 2-10 requested a working box.  Engine 10 arrived on scene first and found the 1st floor business and 2nd floor apartment to be charged with smoke.  Smoked continue to push from structure as source was being determined.  Chief 2-10 request Ladder 20 and Engine 18 to stand by in quarters. &...

Tractor Fire- Malvern

By News DeskOctober 25, 2014At 09:57 hours Station 4 was alerted to the 800 block of Providence Road in Willistown Townsip for reports of a tractor on fire. With a crew still on station from a previous fire alarm, Tac 4 responded quickly.Chief 4 (N. Vaughn) arrived on location reporting a John Deere tractor fully involved. Tac 4 arrived and deployed a 1 3/4" attack line to extinguish the fire. Engine 4-5 arrived and supplied Tac 4 with additional water. The fire was placed under control at 10:08 hours and Malvern Fire and EMS units cleared the scene at 10:42 hours.

Car Down Embankment
Sandy Hook Vol. Fire and Rescue - Sandy Hook, CT
Sandy Hook and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to a one-vehicle accident at approximately 0745 Saturday. Firefighters found a vehicle off the west side of the roadway, approximately 55 yards from the road's intersection with Berkshire Road. Although initially dispatched at 7:45 am as an MVA with extrication, the driver was able to self-extricate before firefighters arrived on scene. She was checked at the scene, but refused additional medical attention.The roadway was alternately closed, open for alternating lanes, and then temporarily closed again, until 9:30 am.

Auto Vs Pole on Durham Road

Just after 11PM both companies were dispatched to Durham Road in the area of Racquet Club Apts for a reported auto extrication. Chief-7 arrived and reported a vehicle vs a pole with live wires down. The driver self extricated and was transported to St Mary's Trauma via Medic-168. Both Engines remained on scene for hazards and traffic control until PECO arrived.
