Friday May 2, 2008: Server Weather hits the state of Arkansas once again, this time the small
town of Earle, Arkansas takes a direct hit. Earle is the third largest city in Crittenden
County. It lays on the Western edge of the county about 20 minutes from West Memphis on US
Highway 64. The tornado hit around 16:00 hrs. The West Memphis Fire Department along
with Marion, Hughes, and Parkin Fire Departments responded to assist the Earle Fire Department with

At 0735 hours the Lonsdale Fire Department was paged for a report of a structure fire at the corner
of Houpt and Cockrill Street located in the city limits of Lonsdale.
Lonsdale Engine 1 was the first due engine company and upon arrival reported a single story dwelling
with heavy smoke showing and 1 room involved with the fire breaching into attic.
Lonsdale Engine 1 with a 2 man crew stretched 200' 1 3/4" attack line, secured a hydrant and

West Memphis Fire Department's Engine Company 3 was called on to assist a citizen.
Company 3 was called to 216 Bettis for a lady's cat in a tree. Mrs. Mary Cheatham of 216
Bettis called the Fire Department and asked if anyone could help retrieve her cat from a tree.
Mrs. Cheatham told firefighters that she had just moved to the house on Bettis and her pet cat,
Dove, got outside. Once Dove got outside, she was spooked by some neighborhood dogs and ran up
the tree. Dove stayed in the tree for almost 3 days and would not come down. West

Wed 05-07-08 Motor Vehicle Accident w/ Hazards-Bentleyville Borough

At 07:38 hrs the volunteers were alerted for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Unknown injuries in the
area of 205 Wilson Rd in the borough. 11Medic with 11C1 (Sicchitano Jr.) was the
first to arrive to find two vehicles in a head-on type collision with fluids leaking and 1 minor
injury. Once the Engine and Squad crews arrived the crews were split into vehicle
stabilization, hazard control and traffic control. Medic 1103 obtained 1 patient refusal.
Once the road way was reopened all crews retrurned to service in under 1hr.

At 9:05 pm St. 22 was dispatched to a single vehicle accident involving a cow. E-223 was
enroute within minutes of the call going out and arrived on-scene to find a single vehicle in the
roadway that had struck a cow. There were fluids leaking from the vehicle so members put down
some stay dry the keep it from leaking into the nearby creek. 223 stayed on-scene for a few
minutes longer then turned the scene over to the state police.

Ft. Stewart/Hunter A.A.F Fire and Emergency Services - Ft. Stewart, GA
At 08:51 hours dispatch alerted Chief 3 (C. Goode) and Engine 7 to a garbage truck on fire at
building 523. On arrival Chief 3 established command advising the driver dropped his load in
the parking lot with fire showing. Engine 7 arrived on scene and pulled the booster line
extinguishing the rubbish. Environmental Spill Response arrived due to the runoff and contents of
the load. Chief 3 requested a backhoe to move the load for final extinguishment. Command was

A northeast family is displaced today after a fire erupted in their duplex dwelling early this
morning.
Just before 3 am (05/07)units from the District of Columbia Fire Department were
dispatched to the 900 block of Jefferson Street, NE in the Riggs Park section of the city for a
reported house fire.
Units arrived on the scene with smoke and fire showing from the top floor of a two-story duplex
dwelling.

A first alarm was sent to 6 Rock Street in the Borough of Hughestown for a working structure
fire. Chief 143 arrived on scene to find a two and a half story residential with division two fully
involved. First due companies had a lot to deal with upon their arrival. The fire was already
extending to the houses on Side B and Side D. A nice job by the first response companies

1800 to 2200 hours, Medic 28 was staffed ALS, Enhanced level with T. Iovinetti, 204 and T. Kelly,
221. Medic 29 was staffed ALS, Intermediate level with F. Smith, 213 and J. Morgan, 217. Medic 24

Two people are in serious condition after a motor vehicle accident in northeast section of the
city.
Just before 2 am last night (05/05) Ambulance 30 was in 5000 block of East Capitol Street NE when
they notice a motor vehicle accident with a person ejected, they requested additional units to be
dispatched to the scene.
According to MPD, a white Lexus was traveling northbound on East Capital Street at a high rate of
speed when it crashed into a gray Dodge as it was turning onto East Capitol Street from 50th

Just after 11:00 pm last night (05/05) Montgomery County Engine 702 was in the area of 1100 block of
University Blvd when they notice smoke coming from a Laundromat in the Langley Park Shopping, they
requested a box alarm assignment to be transmitted.
Units from Chillum-Adelphi Station 834, Berwyn Heights Station 814, and Hyattsville Station 801
along with several other units from Prince George's and Montgomery County Fire/Rescue were alerted

At 07:50 hrs the volunteers were alerted for a Motor Vehcile Accident with
unknown injuries at the intersection of Main and Lincoln in the borough. The Medic
was the first to arrive with 11C2 (Miller) reporting 3 vehicles involved in a rear-end
chain reaction collision with 1 female patient complaining of back injuries.
