MVA in South Hanover
Hershey Volunteer Fire Department - Hershey, PA
While staging at a Gas Leak call in Hummelstown, an Accident with Entrapment was dispatched just north of the borough in the 47 local.  Command 46 released Engine 48 to assist on the box.  Engine 48 arrived to a 2-vehicle crash and multiple patients.  Crews stabilized one car with two patients still inside.  The driver's door was popped with the "Jaws of Life" to gain access.  Rescue 88, also released from the 46 call, arrived and helped EMS with patients in the other car.  Company 47 had multiple units on scene and had command of the incident.

Bicyclist Injured in Readington Township on State Highway 31
Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad - Flemington, NJ
On Sunday 20 July 2014 at around 1730 Hours, the Flemington - Raritan Rescue Squad was dispatched to State Highway 31 near West Woodschurch Road in Readington Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. The Squad responded with BLS Ambulances 4953 and 4954. At the scene, Squad EMT's quickly assessed the patient and found him to have a possible head injury due to an altered mental status. Assist to Company 8 MVA With Entrapment
Ruscombmanor Volunteer Fire Company - FLEETWOOD, PA
On July 19 2014 at 06:48 company 34 was dispatched to Pricetown Road in the area of Magnolia Lane in Alsace Township to assist company 8 with a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.First arriving units found a two vehicle collision with a driver trapped in an SUV.Crews worked together to stabilize the SUV, hydraulic tools were put in service and the left side doors, B post, and roof were removed. The dash was then lifted to free the trapped driver.Great job to all involved in this extrication!

Physical Rescue - West Elizabeth Borough
Elizabeth Township Fire Department - Elizabeth, PA
Just after 4pm, Rescue Company 7 was special called to the West Elizabeth side of the Elizabeth Bridge for a high angle rescue. A juvenile was stuck about 60 feet in the air on the super structure. Rescue 7 responded to assist with the rescue operations. SHACOG TRT (South Hills Area Council of Governments Technical Rescue Team) was also requested to respond with their specialty resources. The victim was placed in a harness, lowered to 180 Truck and then brought down to the ground where he was evaluated by an awaiting EMS crew. Structure fire Ellsworth Borough
Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Company - Ellsworth, PA
At 14:50 Station 38 was alerted to a unknown type fire in the are of the old Bentworth Middle School. As dispatch was being completed 911 updated this to a structure fire response which brought  mutual aid from Fallowfield Twp (Sta. 47), Lone Pine (Sta. 50), and Marianna (Sta. 67). Lieutenant 38 (Ritenour) also requested Bentleyville (Sta. 11). Engine 38-2 arrived on scene to find a fully involved storage shed with extension to a vehicle and playground set. This morning around 2:30 a.m. Crews responded to the 1900 block of capeway road for the report of a structure fire. Company 1 responded E-1 and K-1 to find a single story, wood frame structure fully involved . Crews quickly went to work on the fire. No one was home or hurt during this incident .

On July 18 2014 at 13:59 Companies 34, 8 and 12 were dispatched to Blandon Road in the area of Schmehl Road for a Motor Vehicle accident reported to be with injuries, as well as with possible entrapment and fire.First arriving units found a two vehicle crash with negative entrapment or fire. Crews assisted EMS with patient packaging and removal. Crews also controlled fluids and traffic.

Haulout from Sharp Top Trail
Bedford Life Saving and First Aid Crew Inc. - Bedford, VA
Medic 1-2 responded to the Sharp Top Trail at the Peaks of Otter for a patient that had fallen on the trail. Medic 1-2 crew (S. Zimmerman, C. Coles, and M. Abbott Jr.) hiked up the mountain about 1 mile (whew!!) to reach the patient. BFD crew and National Park Service brought the wheeled litter in for extracting the patient from the trail. After a slow transport out of the woods, patient was released. Thanks to all who helped with the haulout!!! Oh yea, this was our view while waiting on the wheeled litter....

Clinton two alarm fire displaces a dozen people

Shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday night units from Clinton, Forestville, District Heights along with other near-by companies responded to the 5900 block of Surratts Village Drive just off of Piscataway Road for a reported townhouse fire.First arriving units reported fire showing from the rear of a two-story townhouse with on both floors and extending to an adjacent two-story townhouse.With fire on both floors of the townhouse and extending to another townhouse a second alarm was transmitted bringing additional units to the scene.Firefighters made a very aggressive attack on the fire and was able ...

Gas Line Struck - Ligonier Borough
Westmoreland County Hazardous Materials Response Team 800 - Greensburg, PA
Team 800 was dispatched automatically for a gas line rupture involving a residential service line.  A landscaping crew attemting to remove shrubbery around a gas meter pierced the line with a steel digging iron and ruptured the buried steel service line that was 2" below the surface.  Ligonier Borough fire department shut off the gas at the curb valve and stopped the flow of gas in a short period of time.  Fire department personnel checked the structure for any hazardous levels of natural gas and cleared the scene before the HAZMAT crew arrived.  The gas company r...

0546hrs: Station 105 along with Station's 140 (Belle Vernon), 139 (Washington Twp), 103 (Collinsburg), 81-1 (Monessen), 174 (Fayette City) and 31 (Webster) was alerted to assist Station 80 (North Belle Vernon) for a report of smoke in a building in the 500 block of Broad Ave. With Rescue 105 and Truck 105 enroute, Assistant 80-2 arrived on the scene and confirmed visible smoke on the first division from the alpha side on a two story taxpayer. At 1733 hours on Thursday July 17th, Companies 7, 12 (Stonewood VFD), and Ambulance 19 (Anmoore EMS) were alerted for a Vehicle Accident w/Injuries on Route 20 near Mr. Tunes Auto Sales in Craigmoor. Squad 7 (w/4- Lt. Keith) hit the streets minutes later with Engine 72 (w/2) not far behind. Around noon a call was received of a smoke odor at the Premier Bank on South Church street, Ripley.  Upon investigation it was determined that a coffee pot in the employees break area was the culprit of the smell.  All units returned to service.

Southeast House Fire

On Thursday morning, units from the Third Battalion responded for a reported house fire in the 3800 block of First Street SE.Units arrived on the scene and reported smoke showing from a two-story rowhouse with all residents out safely.Firefighters enter the dwelling and located a working fire in the basement area of the house.With a very aggressive, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes arriving on the scene.No injuries reported. Reported field fire on Yates-Cooney Neck Rd.
Northeast Nelson Fire Department - Bloomfield, KY
Northeast Nelson Fire and Rescue were called out to the report of a field fire at the 500 block of Yates-Cooney Neck Rd. Upon arrival we found a wheat field that was being harvested that caught fire when the combing malfunctioned. Approximately 2 acres of standing wheat were involved, members hit this fire with a fast attack to contain the flames and stop the fire that was being driven by a mild wind. The combine was checked to ensure there was no existing fire or further damage.

Northern Union County was experiencing heavy rain and storms causing the creeks and streams to rise quickly. Station 3 was dispatched to vehicle in the creek at Howey Bottom Rd. @ West Duncan. Captain Holloway arrived on the scene and advised of a pick up truck off the roadway in the flooded ditch.
